What is it? ​Atelier Chimalxochitl is a 5-month program in which participants will learn screen printing techniques and gain practice through community-based art projects within a framework of solidarity and action. The program offers screen printing techniques and practice, opportunities to work independently and in teams, guest speakers and field trips. The program also provides a cultural history of the role of popular and traditional arts in social movements in the US and Latin America. Participants receive a stipend, and will be able to submit selected prints in an end of the year exhibit at the School of Arts and Culture at MHP.

Who can participate? The program is for youth ages 18 to 25. Women, trans and gender non-confirming people are encouraged to apply. 

How do I apply? You must attend a 1-hour information session on any of the dates listed below. At the end of the info session, you will receive an email with a link to apply. Applications will be reviewed, followed by an interview process in January.
